Contributor Terms

Contributor Terms v1 — October 2026 · These terms govern every prompt submitted to MotionPrompts from this version on. Submitting a prompt means you accept them.

Plain-English terms; not drafted by a lawyer. They say what we mean as clearly as we can. If anything here is unclear, ask before you submit.

1. Who may submit

You may submit if you are 18 or older (or have a guardian's consent), and you are submitting your own work — or you have the creator's written authority to submit on their behalf.

2. The work is yours — originality warranty

By submitting, you warrant that the prompt and the video are your own original work (or work you made or commissioned with all the rights needed to submit it here). No part was copied from another creator except as credited and permitted by them.

3. Everything inside the work is cleared

You also warrant that you have cleared everything inside the work: music and sound effects, fonts, logos and trademarks, product screenshots and UI, images, voices and likenesses, and any client or employer rights (no work-for-hire or NDA conflict). MotionPrompts gives visitors no warranty about these third-party rights — the clearance is yours.

4. The licence you grant MotionPrompts

You keep your copyright. You grant MotionPrompts a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable, perpetual and sublicensable licence to host, reproduce, display, publicly perform, format-convert, excerpt (including for thumbnails, previews and promotion of the gallery), and archive your prompt and video, for as long as the entry is published and in backups or promotional captures already made.

5. The licence you grant visitors

Visitors may copy and run your prompt to create their own videos, including commercially, and share the videos they make. If a visitor republishes the prompt text itself, they must credit you and link to this entry or your original post, and they may not sell the prompt text. No one may: resell or redistribute the prompt or video on its own; compile entries into a competing gallery or service; imply that you endorse their product; or remove attribution notices.

6. How you will be credited

Your entry shows your name or handle exactly as you gave it, a link to your profile (if you gave one), and a link to your original post (if any) — on the entry, and wherever we promote it. We will not present a modified prompt as your tested original without labelling the edit. Credit links are published with rel="nofollow ugc" — they exist for readers and pass no search-engine ranking; if a credit is abused for link-building, we may remove the link while keeping or removing the entry under §8.

7. Testing and edits

We test submissions before publishing. We may lightly format, tag, categorise, and correct obvious typos in a prompt; substantive edits are labelled on the entry. The "Tested" badge means we actually re-ran the prompt — it is not an endorsement of any claim made inside the prompt or video.

8. Moderation

We review every submission before publication. We may decline a submission without giving reasons, and we may remove a published entry at any time — for a breach of these terms, a rights complaint, quality, or legal risk. We are not obliged to publish, or to monitor published entries.

9. Takedowns — both directions, honestly stated

Your own entry: if you want your entry removed, send a takedown request through the /submit page (mark it TAKEDOWN, or use the takedown form in our submissions repo once it is live). We will remove the entry and any copy of the video we host promptly — our target is within 7 days. One honest limit: removal does not revoke the visitor licence for prompts or videos people already lawfully copied or downloaded before the removal. We cannot take back copies already in the wild, and we will not pretend otherwise.

Someone else's rights: if you believe an entry infringes your rights, send us: the work claimed, the entry URL, your contact details, and a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorised and your notice is accurate. We act on complete notices promptly. The contributor may counter-notice, and we will handle both sides in the open.

10. Your responsibility

You remain solely responsible for your work. If a claim arises because your warranties in sections 2–3 were not true, you will indemnify MotionPrompts against it.

11. No payment, no employment

Submitting is voluntary and unpaid. No partnership, employment, or revenue-share is created. If the gallery is ever monetised, that does not change the licence for entries already submitted, except as section 13 allows.

12. Privacy

We collect your handle, profile link, and contact email (if a form asks for it) to review your submission, credit you, and contact you about it. Your contact email is never published. Form data lives with the form provider named on the /submit page (Tally) and in our GitHub submissions repo, whose issues are public — that is why the GitHub form has no email field. Ask us and we will delete your contact data.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms for future submissions. The version you agreed to when you submitted governs your entry. Each entry records the terms version it was submitted under.

14. What we do not accept

No unlawful, defamatory, hateful, sexual, or infringing content. No malware or code that harms a visitor's machine when run as instructed. No prompts that require stolen assets, leaked material, or breaking a tool's own terms. No impersonating another creator.

15. The agreement

Every submission route ends with an unticked-by-default confirmation: "This prompt and video are my own work, and I grant MotionPrompts and its visitors the free-use licence in the Contributor Terms v1" — plus the name or handle exactly as it should appear in your credit. No tick, no submission. We keep a timestamped copy of each agreement (the form response or issue) as the record for that entry.

16. Which model? — model neutrality, and a short disclaimer

The prompts on this site are model-neutral: plain structured text (direction, a beat-by-beat structure, build steps and a banned list) with no syntax or trick that belongs to a single AI model. Our own test runs — the ones behind the Tested badge — are performed with Claude, and each entry's run log says so. You may run any prompt here in any AI coding model (Claude/Opus, GPT, Gemini, or another); expect results to vary by model, because each model's coding ability differs. The Tested badge describes our run of the prompt, not a guaranteed outcome on a different model. MotionPrompts is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google; model names are used only to describe compatibility.
