The pause is the performance — do not trim the prompt down to the smile; the glisten and the hold are what the clip is for.
Platform notes
Gen-4's performance strength is restraint, so the prompt specifies what the face does in miniature ('micro-expressions only', 'subtle breathing') instead of asking for big emotion, which tips into melodrama.
A locked-off camera is a performance decision as much as a technical one: no camera move means every flicker of expression is the viewer's whole world, and background drift has nowhere to hide — so there is none.
Enhance: if you need actual words, generate this silent and dub in post. Lip sync is not Gen-4's strength, and a great face with mismatched lips is worse than a great face in silence.

Runway Prompt — Actor Monologue Close-Up (Starter)
Banned list —Beat grid —Build method —Self-review —
Close-up of an elderly actor's face against a dark theatre backdrop. He reaches the last line of a monologue: eyes glistening, a long pause, then the beginning of a sad smile. Subtle breathing and micro-expressions only. Camera static, locked off. A single spotlight from above, visible film grain, photorealistic skin detail.
